Who Are the Ultra Friends?

In days past, before the oceans swallowed fabled Atlantis, creative people suffered lonely existences, in silence.  These were dreamers.  These were clowns.  These were warrior-poets.  Then Al Gore (or maybe a computer programmer) invented the Internet and a limitless world of procrastination was opened to them.

Now they need not suffer alone.  They could trade tips on how to procrastinate.

Thus, there came to be the Ultra Friends.

Ultra Friends GO! are five guys from across the country who share a common interest in creating. Between these five fine fellas are a dazzling array of comics, web comics, podcasts, films and prose. When you see the Ultra Friends GO! stamp you can rest assured that you are buying a product of quality.

Together they can connect to form a Voltron-like creative entity (Lion Force Voltron, not Vehicle Force) which makes comics and podcasts and bad jokes. Form Blazing Sword!

KEITH W. CUNNINGHAM was born at a very young age. It seemed like the thing to do. He spent the first nine months of his life in a cramped one-room apartment located in his mother’s abdomen (a womb with a view, anyone?). Then, he was forcibly evicted only to be slapped on the backside by a man in a white mask who smelled vaguely of disenfectants. Things could only go downhill from there. Currently he is a comic creator, actor, and filmmaker based out of Pennsylvania (at least until the heat blows over). He is the co-creator of Stale Popcorn with Ryan King, a web comic about life spent working in a movie theater. In the film world he is best known as tthe co-writer of the feature film Sweetmint, and as the voice of Brian in the award-winning animated short 24 Frames. Keith is currently in the process of developing multiple comic book projects and co-host of three podcasts: Cinerama, The Trip, and Ultra Friends GO! He loves Mountain Dew, Chinese food, chicken wings, comic books, movies, and he once fought a rampaging fire breathing land squid for YOUR entertainment. You can check him out on IMDB here.

HAROLD C. JENNETT III is known for many things. His love affair with batter-fried pickles, his rescue of seventeen gilded acorns from almost certain death, and the way he wears his boots when he goes swimming. But what most don’t know is that this kid can draw. His mother will tell you that Harold’s first drawing was not that of a childish stick figure, but of an actual, solid person, and many believe this to be true. A devoted husband, a loving father, Harold also does work for charity. Most of his commission work goes towards charity and Harold is currently creating the Creative Compassion: Shelter anthology to raise money for the homeless. Harold started his first comic works in 2006 when he created MIMES with Wayne Cordova. Harold moved into the world of web comics with the Geek Syndicate Web Comic. But in his most intelligent move to date, Harold has currently begun work on an upcoming as-yet-to-be-announced graphic novel with Steeven Orr where the sensational writing will only be eclipsed by Harold’s amazing art. All in all Harold C. Jennett III is a pretty swell guy whose artistic chops need to be run up the flagpole and saluted. You can follow Harold on Facebook, so go do that.

RYAN KING is a dad, husband, and overall swell guy from Cincinnati. When he isn’t procrastinating, he plays artist from home and also works at his church. Perhaps his biggest (and most dubious) achievement to date was co-creating the viral video “Hey Ya, Charlie Brown”. These days, Ryan co-hosts The Incredible HulkcastUltra Friends GO!, and The Trip. Ryan also has several comic book projects in the works which he hopes to get to soon. Ryan loves the Muppets, the Hulk, all things Disney, his favorite sports teams (Spurs, Bengals, Reds), and peanut butter. Lots of peanut butter. You can see more of his work here.

STEEVEN ORR is a father of three and married to the love of his life. When he’s not helping with homework, or running errands, or paying bills, or working, or spending time with his family, or sleeping, or eating, or using the bathroom, Steeven likes to write. Best known for next to nothing, Steeven aspires to be known for next to something. He’s currently penning a re-write of the classic tale, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, as well as working on a upcoming as-yet-to-be-announced graphic novel with Harold Jennett. Steeven created the little known, but soon to be a worldwide phenomenon, character of Norman Oklahoma, an immortal private detective who fights zombies, meets bigfoot, and was once a close personal friend of Wyatt Earp. Steeven has a big red beard that makes grown men cry and small children flee in terror. He’s also prone to bouts of hyperbole, but he doesn’t think it’s catching. You can’t follow Steeven on Twitter nor Friend him on Facebook, but you can read his blog here.

DEAN E. STAHL is an artist, RPG gamer, comics fan and a pro-wrestling fan and historian. He’s a life-long student of art and an as-yet-to-be-recognized talent in the industry. He’s the creator of the Headlocks and Headaches web comic and has been a contributor to many comic anthologies, such as 2Dark from 01Publishing. He currently lives in Michigan with his lovely wife, monstrous mother-in-law and a Lab-Shepherd dog and 6 cats, 2 of which belong to he and his wife.  You can often see him at conventions wearing a kilt, and if you give him ten dollars he won’t even lift it.

This site will serve as a space where they can share news about their various upcoming projects or just wax poetic about the universe in general.
